Jennifer Crowl has been a Royal Neighbors insurance agent for two years. Inspired by the Royal Neighbors mission and the programs offered to members, Jennifer and her colleagues decided to start a Royal Neighbors chapter in 2020. “Starting a chapter allowed us to expand the impact we make in our community and helps us stay organized while doing so,” said Jennifer, who serves as Chapter President.
Chapter 20207 is made up of 25 agents dedicated to giving back to Des Moines, Iowa and its surrounding communities. Through virtual and in-office meetings, Chapter 20207 meets monthly to discuss upcoming volunteer opportunities and brainstorm future events. “We have a great crew ranging in age from mid-20’s to early 60’s,” said Jennifer. “Every member has a unique set of ideas and resources to help us positively impact quality of life for our neighbors.”
In their first year as a chapter, they planned several holiday food drives and hosted an Adopt-A-Family Secret Santa event. This year, Chapter 20207 is committed to creating community pantry boxes that will provide free food and books for their neighbors. The chapter members are also joining together to volunteer at a long-term care facility in their community.
Last year, two organizations in Des Moines, Iowa were awarded Nation of Neighbors℠ grants to help them move their mission forward and expand their services, thanks to nominations from Chapter 20207. Pursuit of Innovation 515 helps create an inclusive culture wherein students can learn both STEM and the employment skills needed to launch them into new planes of achievement. Dorothy’s House is a residential and community-based program to help human trafficking victims reclaim their lives.
“We love Royal Neighbors,” said Jennifer, and we’re grateful for the support they provide through various programs to help us make a difference throughout our community.”
