For Royal Neighbors Chapter 5052 in River Falls, Wis., service is not only what they provide, but also a meaningful part of who they are. Recently their members spent time cooking, baking, chopping, delivering, and enjoying a meal with the residents of the Salvation Army Grace Place.
Grace Place is a transitional home for 28 people. This vital community resource provides hope and shelter for those navigating difficult life chapters. One gentleman at their table shared that he had just moved in after a devastating electrical fire that had destroyed his home. As they sat together, listening to his story, they were reminded why their service matters.
The residents were grateful not only for the food but for the volunteers sharing a meal made for them AND with them. The sense of community made this event special. Their meal shows that simple acts of service can create lasting connections.
