I recently had the honor of being asked to deliver the keynote address at a luncheon celebrating National Philanthropy Day. During that speech, I was able to speak about the Royal Neighbors mission to provide women and their families with needed life insurance and annuity products and to also empower them to make a difference in the communities where they live. It’s part of our DNA and our “Insurance with a Difference” approach to our business and purpose.
The timing of this occasion couldn’t have been better – I had a great example to share! We had just wrapped up our signature women’s empowerment program, Nation of Neighbors℠, having awarded ten recipients with $10,000 each to help them do extra-ordinary things within their communities. Each of these unique, women-led organizations benefits their chosen cause or community. And while each is already making a profound difference and changing lives with the work that they do within their area of expertise, our grant will help extend this reach even further.
The Nation of Neighbors program has evolved over the years, but the premise behind it has not. It’s about empowering women. And you, our members, play a significant role in this. You nominate women who have inspired you by doing amazing things right in your own backyards – women who can and do make a difference. And by nominating them, you create an opportunity for these agents of change to make an even bigger impact.
This is one of the greatest benefits of being a Royal Neighbors member. This ability and opportunity to make a difference how and where you want to. This issue of The Royal Neighbor is packed with examples of how our members embrace this charge and do so with enthusiasm. From our Nation of Neighbors recipients to our “boots on the ground” chapters to our scholarship recipients – there is so much good work of which we can be proud.
And so, as we close this year, I want to thank you for all the work you’ve done. I am humbled to be able to play a role in helping make this happen. And I can’t wait to see what we’re able to accomplish together next year! Together, we can empower individuals, neighborhoods, and communities. We can change lives.
All my best,
