Sensory Kit Service Project

Royal Neighbors Chapter Leaders assembling sensory kits

This summer, we hosted our first Chapter Leaders Regional Summit at our home office in Rock Island, Illinois. More than 70 Chapter Leaders, representing nine states, shared ideas, learned about Royal Neighbors’ history, spent time networking, and worked together to complete a service project for children in the Quad Cities community.

The service project was a collaboration with Chapters 20237 and 20274. Chapter 20237 created the informational postcard, and Chapter 20274 embellished the journals included in the kit.

Chapter Leaders worked together at the Regional Summit to assemble “Tools Not Toys” sensory kits that included fidgets, ear plugs, journals, chewing gum, and play dough. Each item in the kit is intended as an adaptive tool to promote success in daily activities.

At the end of the event, 80 sensory kits were donated to children in the Hand in Hand program.

Thank you to our amazing Chapter Leaders for making a difference for children in the Quad Cities community. The joy that radiates from you while giving back is inspiring to everyone around you!
